This work package defines a multi-cloud AI Security Architecture for 2026. As enterprises move from static chatbots to autonomous Agentic AI, the focus shifts from simple API protection to a Zero Trust (ZT) Control Plane that spans AWS, GCP, and Azure.
Objective: Deploy a unified security layer across a multi-cloud footprint to govern AI models, data pipelines, and autonomous agents using a "Never Trust, Always Verify" posture.
In 2026, the primary security boundary for AI is Identity, not the network.
Workload Identity Federation (WIF): Implement short-lived, cryptographic identities for AI agents across clouds (e.g., using AWS IAM Roles anywhere, Azure Managed Identities, and GCP Workload Identity).
Agent Attestation: Ensure that only "signed" models and sanctioned system prompts can execute. Use Azure Trusted Launch or AWS Nitro Enclaves to verify the integrity of the inference environment.
Deliverable: Cross-Cloud Agent Identity Registry & Attestation Policy.
Protect the data context provided to AI agents to prevent "Context Injection" and "Data Exfiltration."
Vector Database Micro-segmentation: Enforce Row-Level Security (RLS) in databases like Pinecone or Azure AI Search. Ensure an agent only "sees" the data its specific human user is authorized to access.
Data Sovereignty & Residency: Automate data placement using GCP Sensitive Data Protection or AWS Macie to ensure PII never crosses regional boundaries during cross-cloud agent collaboration.

AI Agents act autonomously; security must monitor their intent, not just their access.
AI Firewall / Gateway: A centralized proxy (e.g., Cloudflare for AI or F5) to intercept Indirect Prompt Injections—malicious instructions hidden in documents the agent reads.
Chain-of-Thought (CoT) Auditing: Export agent "thought logs" to a unified SIEM (Microsoft Sentinel or GCP Security Operations). If an agent makes an unauthorized trade or deletion, forensics can reconstruct its reasoning.
Human-on-the-Loop (HOTL) Gates: Define "High-Risk Tools" (e.g., delete_database(), transfer_funds()) that trigger a multi-factor approval (MFA) request to a human supervisor before execution.
